Consider the following Registered Nurse Opportunities: Outpatient Observation Unit (4B) The 35 bed, observation provides care to a patient population with a variety of medical conditions. The unit is telemetry capable, has lower lengths of stay, and functions as a bridge between the inpatient and outpatient nursing. The Unit's collaborative care model provides opportunities for professional growth, teamwork, and critical thinking. It is an ideal starting point for nursing professionals who may seek future opportunities in the Emergency Department or Critical Care. Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit (5E) The 24 bed medical/surgical telemetry unit serves as the Hospital's designated stroke unit. The unit's highly trained registered nurses maintain certification in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, ACLS, and receive multiple continuing education credits specific to stroke annually. In addition to our stroke population, the unit also receives patients with multiple diagnoses including heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis and COPD. The unit's staff is skilled at balancing the demands of a high acuity and fast paced unit while focusing on patient satisfaction and delivering high quality care. Medical/Surgical Unit (5F) The 23 bed medical/surgical "Transformation and Innovation of Care Unit" (TICU), is the Hospital's Diabetic and Renal Unit, also focusing on disorders and diseases of the pulmonary, gastrointestinal, endocrine, circulatory, and neurological systems, infectious diseases and dermatological disorders. Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) certification is encouraged of nursing staff. TICU has the unique and exciting role of trialing new policies/ processes/equipment before hospital-wide utilization. The unit's staff members are viewed as the Hospital experts with diabetic care.
